We are Charlotte and Red - husband and wife, parents, long time brewers, long time beer enthusiasts and owners of Bonnie Day. After 15 years in the beer industry we're still as passionate as ever about brewing great beer for great people.

Why another brewery?

We just love beer. We love brewing beer, talking about beer and of course, drinking beer. Brewing satisfies all the things that make us tick - interesting science, rich heritage, satisfying flavours and good times with friends.

Red has a passion for detail, perfection & flavour which makes brewing the perfect vocation. Endless data to analyse, endless research opportunities, and endless beer to consume (responsibly of course).

Charlotte's love of brewing comes from the fascination of manipulating natural ingredients to create incredible flavours. Great beer takes great farming, to produce great raw materials. She's less detail focused & more good times focused which balances out Red nicely...

Why Geraldine?

After wrapping up life in Adelaide in 2022 we decided to move back to New Zealand for a bit of a change. Charlotte grew up in South Canterbury, Red grew up in small town Western Australia so it felt right to make the move to Geraldine. It's a great wee town with beautiful views and a good vibe.

Why Bonnie Day?

We spent months searching for the perfect name. Conversations
and ideas flowed on walks around the hills of Geraldine with beautiful views of
lush forests and snow capped mountains. No matter what the weather it was
always a beautiful outlook – a Bonnie Day.
